About Lu's
Purpose
While introducing pre-academic concepts, we emphasize social interaction in developing skills to successfully work in group situations. We strive to develop and maintain a positive self-concept.
Classes
We offer the following classes at Lu’s learning center:
• 2 year old class – 2 days a week
• 3 year old class – 3 or 5 days a week
• 4 year old class (Pre-K) – 3 or 5 days a week
Our classes begin at 9:00 AM and end at 12:00 PM.
Curriculum
The program of work, study, and play is designed for the pre-school child. We endeavor to maintain the highest standards of pre-school education. Our school is child-centered. We believe in a program of doing, and through doing, learning. We provide learning units, arts, crafts, story time, creative playtime, and music time each morning.
Directors
Lisa Sadler is married with three children and has taught at Lu’s since 1997.
Sharla Mobley is married with two children and has an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood from Flint River Technical College. Sharla has taught at Lu’s since 2010.
Behind our directors is a group of experienced and well trained teachers and staff. The love and compassion our teachers have for your children is what continues to make Lu’s Learning Center one of the best pre-school institutes around.
Information for Parents
We follow the Thomaston- Upson school system calendar in regards to holidays. We, however, start in September and end the third week in May.
School hours are from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Drop-off begins at 8:50 in the mornings and children will be ready to be picked up at 11:45.
To ensure the safety of your children when droping off and picking up, follow traffic easterly along N Main Street. Teachers will bring your child to and from the cars. Do not let your children out of the car until a teacher opens the door.
